Experience the magic of a fountain pen

If you are a stationery lover like me, you will fall into one of two categories: either you love your fountain pen, or you haven’t tried one yet. There is no in between. If you love writing with a fountain pen and you are looking for a new fountain pen for yourself or to give as a gift, you have found the right place. I’m a fellow fountain pen lover, and I am so excited to include fountain pens in my stationery collection here at Write and Craft.

What I love about fountain pens

As a stationery lover and aspiring writer, I love writing with a fountain pen.

·         I love the way it makes me feel like a real writer. Having a fountain pen feels “fancy” to me, and makes me feel like I am an author writing my first novel.

·         I love the way the fountain pen feels to write. It glides across the paper in a way that ballpoint pens don’t.

·         I also love the way the writing looks. The ink on the paper looks continuous, unbroken, and satisfying.

·         I also love that fountain pens can be refilled with ink, meaning that I can keep my favourite fountain pen forever.

When to use your fountain pen:

If you love writing and love the feel of a fountain pen, here are the best times to use your fountain pen:

·         When you are writing a card for someone special – writing with a fountain pen makes a calligraphy-like handwriting that is beautiful and perfect for cards.

·         When writing a letter – similar to writing on cards, writing a letter is joyous, and therefore deserves beautiful writing with a beautiful fountain pen.

·         Writing something special for yourself – this might be writing your novel, it might be writing your journal, it might be writing something to display on your front cover or your wall. Make it beautiful with a fountain pen.

·         For headings, emphasis, and special pages of your journal – write something beautiful in your journal with your fountain pen. Make it extra special with your fountain pen writing!

Every other pen will be a disappointment

There are a few downsides to having a fountain pen. Unfortunately, every other pen you ever use will feel inadequate. Borrowing your colleague’s regular ballpoint pen is going to be so very disappointing. You’re never going to want to write with a different pen ever again. Any other pen will never feel as good.

The next downside to using a fountain pen is that you will feel so, so very upset if you lose your fountain pen or if it is stolen. You might already feel disappointed if your colleague or family member steals your favourite pen, but if it’s your fountain pen, the disappointment you feel will be on a new level.
