Pens and Markers

Pens for stationery lovers

Are you one of those people that goes to an office supplies store and tries out every different pen? Do you also enjoy trying out every new pen you buy in your journal or notebook? Do you also try to write a few pages with your brand-new pen just to try it out? Do you get disappointed when left with a crappy pen to write with? Or when a colleague steals your favourite pen? If you answered yes to any of these, then you are just like me. I just love all things stationery and love trying out different pens. There is just something special about using a new pen for writing. Writing with a new and beautiful pen is something that inspires the writing process, and something that makes the creative juices flow.

A pen for every occasion

If you’re like me, you may like to have a different pen for different purposes. I love to have coloured gel pens for writing headings and checklists, a ballpoint pen for every day writing and journaling, and I love having a fountain pen for when I’m wanting to write something special, like a letter, or a nice new spread on a journal.

No more boring pens

When I am writing, there is nothing I find more boring than a boring old blue pen. It’s fine for a quick note or to jot something down quickly, but when I am doing my writing and journaling, I like to have a nice pen. And when someone in my family steals or loses my good pens, I get very upset. There is just something special about putting pen to paper with a fancy pen. It’s all about the way the pen glides on the paper, the way the ink transfers, and the look of the finished writing.

Feel inspired on your writing journey with a new pen

When you first open a new boxed pen, one of the best feelings is opening up your journal or notebook and giving it a go. Writing a few lines, or even a few pages with a new pen is magical, and it inspires the best writing. When you are writing to try your new pen, you are not worrying about the content, you are not worrying about how long the piece of writing is, or whether you have written in the exact way you want, it’s just about getting words on paper. This can be some of the most inspired and satisfying writing. It’s one of my favourite things about opening up a brand new pen.

Markers:

When you are journaling, or if you like to keep your notebooks nice, organised, and pretty, markers are also essential. You may like to write all your headings in markers, or highlight important text with a marker. If you’re creative and artistic you may also like to draw illustrations or just little drawings to go alongside your writing. Alongside pens, markers can also inspire you in your writing and journaling by giving you the opportunity to create, relish, and enjoy the process of drawing and writing. Coloured markers are a wonderful addition to every journaler and writer’s collection.
